A non-agile, non-waterfall, winning approach to software development

Let me start by acknowledging the huge contribution the authors of the agile manifesto made to the software development field. Until they came together to propose a new way of building software, many companies were stuck in a waterfall model that made it almost impossible to deliver software that was fit for purpose and truly satisfied user needs.

Having said that, too many authors, while trying to explain the benefits of agile, talk about agile frameworks as the only alternative to waterfall, as if there weren’t other software development models in existence.
